In the first quarter of 2024, city-building game enthusiasts in Australia have been actively engaging with their favorite iOS games. Sensor Tower's insights reveal the performance trends of the top five games in this category.
SimCity BuildIt from Electronic Arts maintained steady revenue, peaking at around $20K in early January and tapering to nearly $13K by the end of March. Downloads saw a gradual decline from approximately 2.5K to just over 1K, with weekly active users following a similar trend, starting at around 16K and dipping to just under 13.5K.
Another popular title, Isekai:Slow Life, published by Mars Era Limited, showed an interesting pattern. Revenue hit a high of over $16K mid-January, with a noticeable drop in February, but managed to climb back up to nearly $14K by the quarter's end. Downloads varied, with a spike to over 1K in mid-March, and active users increased from roughly 4.8K to 6.8K during the quarter.
Isekai:Slow Life was not the only game to experience fluctuation. The Simpsons™: Tapped Out, also from Electronic Arts, saw revenue swing from $6K to a high of nearly $10K, while downloads remained fairly stable, with a small peak of over 1.3K in late January. Weekly active users hovered between 3.2K and 3.8K.
Microfun Limited's Merge County® demonstrated a revenue increase from approximately $6K to $7.5K throughout the quarter. Downloads showed an impressive jump from under 100 to nearly 800 in early March, then settled down to around 168 by the quarter's end. Active users saw a rise from 1.2K to 1.5K.
Lastly, Puzzles & Chaos: Frozen Castle by BUILDING-BLOCKS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED, although starting with lower revenue of around $1.2K, managed to more than double by the end of March with $2.7K. Downloads saw significant growth, escalating from 132 to over 700, and active users more than tripled, starting at 325 and climbing to over 1.1K.
